Teruko Yokoi “Listening to The Paintings”

Theme and contents:Many of Teruko Yokoi's works seem to have "sounds" coming from the rich colors she creates. In her paintings of nature, you can hear the swaying of flowers and the sound of the wind, and in her paintings of the surface of lakes, you can hear the silence of silence. The echoes of colors and shapes in his paintings give viewers a feeling similar to the harmony and rhythm of music. In this exhibition, I would like to invite you to listen to a variety of works where you can feel the "sound" from the picture plane. We hope you will enjoy viewing paintings in a different way than usual.

Date: May 19, - October 10, 2021

Workshop: Let's try to express rhythm by dripping.
The "Chestnut" was drawn for the Enakawamiya's hand paper bag, and the dripping technique creates a rhythm in the picture, giving a sense of the dynamism of the three chestnuts. This workshop focuses on this dripping technique and invites visitors to experience "feeling the rhythm," one of the themes of Teruko Yokoi's "Listening to Paintings" exhibition, by applying the dripping technique.
